Hello Mira, which > Chinese hemp palm; Trachycarpus fortunei< temperature to minus 17 ° C can project. My 5 palms have already this year 8 weeks frost and between by only 1 1/2 day thaw. My palms has I already 15 years with me in the garden and this year is very long this winter. We have this year to the 1st time much snow and that already since December 09.Ich become soon snow blind, hopefully come soon spring. Many greetings Dieter

Than you, Dieter! Did you cover your palms to protect them from the frost?

It has never been -13C here, at my knowledge, so, I guess, I can have the palms in my mountain!

Hello Mira, in which these palms grow Switzerland at the Gardasee ungeschütz and increase in forest exhibition times on my HP has I also palms like one small protect there there can. But for Vencouver think I gives it no problem with the frost. Many greetings Dieter
