Greetings All, Thank you for visiting the shore of Jackson Lake and exploring the rock piles with me. Mt. Moran makes a very nice backdrop. Cheers, Rich

Greetings Rudolf, I think the visitors to the shore would stack the stones to match their family. These works of art were all over the place. Thanks for visiting. Cheers, Rich

Hello Richard Ryer,

This landscape is fantastic, with the stones in the foreground is the whole thing even better!! I LIKE!

Greetings Odeveld, Thanks for the visit and the comments. Mt. Moran is beautiful across the lake. And you are right, having the stones in the foreground creates a totally different picture with a beautiful backdrop. Cheers, Rich

Greetings david, Rock stacking is very popular on the shore of the lake at this point. There are entire families there. I liked this romantic couple. Cheers, Rich

Hi Rich.

I was very happy to see this picture again. I am writing a "story" about cairns - as a series of "posts" in Facebook and Goggle+.

You can see my accounts at "about me".

Is it OK to use your picture and refer to you as the photographer?

Many thanks - and yet again - the picture is awesome!

Richard Ryer on November 6, 2011

Greetings Oronbb, Of course you may use this photograph in your accounts. I appreciate your asking and am flattered that you will give me credit with the picture. Thank you so much. The beach where this was taken has millions of river rock like these and all the hikers stop and build small cairns to represent their families, so you have groups of one, two, three, four and five and more, one stack for each family member. It is a really nice tradition. Cheers, Rich
