Thanks again, Trimurti. As I said to your comment to the lower resolution version (which still gets more hits than this one), the only reason I saw the house was because there were a lot of cars parked along the road and I climbed the sand dune to see what they were looking at. I think people were looking at the large waves that day following a storm, not the house!

I wondered that too, but I don't see anything online about the house being affected by the storm. According to the Wikipedia entry on Rodanthe, the home was damaged in a storm a few months after I took the photo and later moved about a mile south. Here's a video that shows the move.
