A typical boat of Malta.

Mark Highton Ridley on July 12, 2007

Another 'yaaaay' :) You really captured fantastic lines and vibrant colours in this one Marilyn.

My only nit-pick is the lettering as it detracts, imho, from an otherwise fantastic image.

Marilyn Whiteley on July 12, 2007

Yes, it might be good to clone out the lettering since I couldn't move the boats! And this was the best angle I could find.

Thanks for your comments.

Mark Highton Ridley on July 13, 2007

Well, you certainly got a greaat angle and you weren't afraid to get in close and up amongst it. A really great shot :)

Very beautiful Marilyn to the colors and geometric shapes.

Hi Salvo

Marilyn Whiteley on December 9, 2007

Thanks you, Salvo. I see from your collection that you like colors and geometric shapes as I do! Greetings, Marilyn

Excellent cropping. This is just beautiful Marilyn. I'm so glad to see these boats again. There were one more thing I think I never got around to take picture of and that was those yellow buses. They were truly something special, both to look at and to ride.

Marilyn Whiteley on December 14, 2007

Thanks, Roger. I'm glad that you approve of the cropping. It was one of those times when I wished that the view had been just a bit less cluttered, so it was a challenge to decide on "the picture" within the picture. Next time you'll take those photos ...

Roger Sandvik on December 14, 2007

He he he he he. Well, I'm not good at making pictures like these. I dont know why, but you can see from my gallery that most shots are from nature and thats what I know. Manmade things, structures, buildings and such I'm not good at. Like to learn though. I have an idea about a line of images I would like make, but haven't got around to try it out yet. Wish me luck :)

Marilyn Whiteley on December 14, 2007

Roger, please read the first part of the very recent conversation on this photo. It's nature that I'm at home with, but I'm learning, and I'm sure you will, too. I believe that Tom is right, and the eye that sees patterns and colours in nature can--with a little conscious effort--see them in constructed things, too. Good luck! I'll look forward to seeing the results.

Roger Sandvik on December 14, 2007

Marilyn! He was certainly right. But for me I think, is the ability to reckognize these opportunities whats hard. Maybe I'm to busy in urban landscapes, or perhaps too shy! I don't know. However, I will try. The picture he commented was very beautiful. Very pleasing to the eye, interresting and inspireing. Thanks for sharing :)

Marilyn Whiteley on December 14, 2007

When we're busy in urban spaces, I think it's natural not to notice, Roger. Maybe if we can deliberately take some time to notice, then we will be more alert to the possibilities around us even when we don't have the opportunity to photograph them.

And on a lighter, note, Greetings,, Marilyn

Roger Sandvik on December 15, 2007

Words that makes a lot of sense. Thank you Marilyn. I'll try to develope a skill towards urban landscapes. I'd like that :) Merry Cristmas to you too, and your family Marilyn :)

Marilyn Whiteley on December 15, 2007

I'll wait patiently for the results, Roger, but I'm positive that you have the skill so I look forward to seeing something ... someday.

Greetings, Marilyn
