Jim Evans (AXOTA) on October 9, 2009

You've done a really nice job capturing this area. Is it your home or was this a visit? ... Bryan

mysterybay...greetings and thank you for leaving your lovely comments!!

Well this is no Mystery Bay ;>) excuse the pun !! In fact it is one of Yorkshire's most popular coastal villages and is steeped in history, lore and legend!! It is but a few miles from my home here in Whitby, yet another olde worlde fishing port on the east coast of the UK.

Many thanks for stopping by Bryan.. I enjoyed your feedback

Kind regards ;>)

Lovely scene Jim!!!

Jim Evans (AXOTA) on November 5, 2009

Rodríguez Prati~~~My attention was drawn to the ornate elongated chimney..Many of the old houses had a small brick built out-house in the yard for the purpose of washing the dirty clothes.. Traditionally, in the UK, wash day was on a Monday!! A large copper coal fired cauldron was used to heat up the water, the smoke from the fire was drawn up the tall chimney. It was like this for our family when I was a child..HOW I HATED MONDAYS!! It was my job to light the fire, keep it going all day with coal and help mother operate the mangle, the poss stick and wash board!! Oh dear!!what a bad thing to remember!!

Good to see you Edmundo ;.)

Having returned from another planet Bruce, although I am not certain which one, I finally discovered your wonderful compliments--coming from such a talented photographer as your good self, this means a great deal to me. Thank you..
