I'd say that this one more than makes up for your lost spot at the river. What a colorfully great looking jumble. It looks like you dumped a big box of colored candy on the ground.
What an amazing array of wonderful colours in the leave, great shot. D
Thanks n1w and dianne ! The bestest part of fall: shuffling through the fallen leaves, hearing the crunchy sound, and taking in that unique aroma!!
Thee ferns with their color bleached out were what jumped out at me here.
Ah yes, I well remember one frosty fall morning, shuffling through the fallen leaves, hearing the crunchy sound, taking in that unique aroma....damned dog!
Wow! I love this one Bits, fall is my favorite time of year for all the reasons that you mentioned (but I'm ignoring Guy's comment).
Blue leaves - remarkable!
Thanks Guy, Cal and Tery ! LOL, I hadn't noticed some of the leaves do look blue here (sad that summer is over I suppose!) and so, lol, perhaps his experience is why Guy moved to the QCI where the trees are mostly evergreens?
Those rich autumn colours are always such a pleasure. The natural carpet time when nature creates the most stunning scenes.
Great picture Bits!
This is pretty Bits.
Thanks marbiz and erik - The leaves strewn over the forest floor sure make for one of the great aspects of a walk in the woods in fall!
Bits-n-Pieces, Great picture! Would you consider giving me lessons? Guy
LOL, Thanks for that Geezer VZ! The secret is to just snap away at everything you see, then spend hours deleting the lousy shots :D Sounds like a joke, but sometimes that does seem to be all I do!
Oh WOW, this is amazing, the colors are just perfect, we only seem to get brown and about four shades of yellow that all seem to blend. Love it!!!!!
Okay this isn't my picture, couldn't tell by the thumb I thought it was one of my underwater pebbles ones.
Thanks Zoe! So nice to see you! Last fall was a great one for color (and Marbiz lucked out in scheduling a vacation here then - she got a great show!) This year isn't likely to be so nice though, since we've had a looong HOT dry summer. This week will be just about the first since June that we haven't had a day over 90 degrees. And when the summer is like that, we mostly end up with brown and one shade of yellow, too. SO it's sure nice to have a shot of last year's color pop up.
