It was the day we got there that we heard of two local girls jumping to their death from this bridge. I wonder if they have found peace

So very sad to hear! Here it is hard to take photos from bridges like this for this very reason. Many of the walks are all boarded up and closed.
Very nice view and also the pattern of the railing & its shadow. Was this another traveling photo? Sometimes the only way to get these shots.

Y'know something? I reckon the majority of my photos are 'travelling shots' as I am either on a train, a coach, in a car or simply wheeeling along on Betty!
I agree that measures should be instuted to deter 'jumpers' especially on structures as tall as this, there seems to be no safety netting along the parapet and it's a long way down!
I appreciate your comment about the photograph, but nowadays it is more of 'point & shoot and throw caution to the winds' than a constructed shot, but it helps to have a good camera & lens. You ought to try it, but use a fast shutter to avoid the foreground blur, multiple rapid exposures, then pick out the best and dump the rest!
Go on! give it a whirl, girl!

:) My problem is I am always the one driving!
I do have one shot on the fly (when I was a rider for a change) that I have yet to post. No time to do anything with the shutter speed as barely time to grab the camera once I saw the phenomenon but in that case I rather liked the foreground blur! If & when I ever get it up I will try to remember to give you a heads up!

Weall do things differently, as we are unique individuals, I don't think anyone can say that anothers methods or results are 'better' or 'worse', it's a matter of personal preferences. In my efforts to explain to others how I set about a certain task, it is with the aim of tutoring or showing a 'different' method, you see I have always thought that the journey is more than the arrival.
Hope you comprehend the babble!
Do things like Frank Sinatra, your way!
