I cannot read the title, but the picture is very very nice!

Thank you for your comment! It's in Albanian and means "Beech forest and a creek in Shebenik mountain". This mountain has a really unspoiled nature and is rich in minerals such as iron and chromium.

A lot of unspoiled nature I guess? Must be beautiful in summer

Mend Zavalani on December 16, 2009

Yes, unspoiled nature is more than abundant, since there's no exploitation for touristic purposes up to now and only minimal exploitation of wood and the minerals. I went with my brother on our own just hiking and exploring the nature. Also Mt. Shebenik is part of European Green Belt and is one of the last habitats of an endangered animal, the Balkan lynx. It is estimated that not more than 100 of them live around this area, between Albania and Macedonia. Fortunately we didn't see any, since we weren't even prepared ;-) If you're more interested I have some more photos...

I even didn't know the Balkan Lynx existed. I have once seen a Lynx in Norway, but that's years ago.

I would realy like to see more pictures please.

I suppose you've already seen the other pictures I have mapped on & around this mount. I'm adding some new as you wish, but if you're a member too, you can add me on Facebook (Mendi Zavalani) to see the album of this trip, if you don't mind of course. I looked 4 your name (as appears here) but didn't find you.

No sorry, no facebook. But if you like to, please mail me some picture of this trip. I added my adres .

Thank you very much,Racz (Shaman) Peter. I hope that you'll visit this one or Albania someday, as you've done with other places around Europe. You really do have some amazing, breathtaking pictures and albums. Truly a great photographer. Greetings from Tirana!
