Thanks liz98 I went inside for the first time in my life today and it was awesome. I never knew the history of the place till now, even though i grew up here and rode past it every day on the way to school. Although it is only recently they have found some rare treasures from new digs around the ruined Abbey.

Hi Tone,

Interesting shot with the balloon in the background. Makes a nice contrast of old and new. What I don't understand is "Why is the balloon there?" I can see that it is restrained, and that it is not a hot air balloon. Maybe you can enlighten us all.

Best Wishes peter

Hi Peterprivatebox Thank you. Yes the Baloon is there to take lots of Tourists and locals high into the air to get a birds eye view of Torbay. I however have not been on it, as it goes way to high.

Thank you aggeliki.k for those kind words. Although It's hard to take a bad photo, when there's so many wonderful things to photograph. As there are in the English Riviera. It's a photographers paradise.

A great looking piece of architecture, best wishes, Fai

TonyWalker Studio4t1 on October 15, 2009

Hi Faintlightofdawn Thanks. Yes it's a great piece of architecture and the oldest building in Torquay but the beautiful Abbey it was joined to was almost totally destroyed by Henry VIII.
