Dover's new Sea Sports Centre, seen from the east, on the beach near the Clock Tower end of the Harbour (which is where Sue`s Seafood Stall is!).

On the pebbles to the right of the Sea Sports Centre is the Lifeguard Station (the white building with the blue railings on top). The trees above the Lifeguard Station are on the Western Heights.

Other photos featuring the Sea Sports Centre include: Dover Sea Sports Centre from the South, Dover Sea Sports Centre from the West, Dover Castle and the Beach from the Prince of Wales Pier (the last is only a partial view).

The existing Dover Water Sports Centre website states:

Dover Water Sports Centre is looking forward to moving to the new Sea Sports Centre, with a Cafe/Restaurant and "hot" showers. This means we can all keep enjoying sailing and powerboating throughout the whole year...

A Dover District Council webpage currently says (under "Facilities Under Development"):

The Dover Sea Sports Centre is currently being built on the seafront in Dover Harbour. The centre will provide an exceptional facility for local clubs and the opportunity to introduce more people to a range of outstanding sea sport opportunities. On the upper floor there will be catering, public areas and changing rooms while storage facilities, boathouse and lecture rooms are housed at beach level.

The facility cost approximately £2.5 million to build and was funded by an extensive range of organisations, local authorities and individuals. The facility is scheduled to open to the public later in 2009.

At the time of writing (16th of October, 2009) there are still flyers dotted around town saying the anticipated date of completion is still "Late 2009", at which time the Dover Sea Sports Centre website will probably become active.
