St Gabriel the Archangel church was founded in 1977. The current church building was dedicated in 1982. It serves about one hundred families of Ruthenian, sometimes called Rusyn, origin and reflects the western migration of a group of people, many of whom passed through Perth Amboy, New Jersey when they arrived in the US.
