It's actually currently part of Louisville Gas and Electric's Canal Substation, but based on it's location, and some faded markings on the bricks, I would guess that it was formerly was a powerhouse for the old elevated electric railway from the early 1900s.

Any history on this building? I'd love to know why it was abandoned.
