Nice eye to catch this one, Bits. Very fancy, and well done.

....and it looks excellent full size, those figures really stand out. Nice of k to let you have one!! H

Conrad Nay on October 21, 2009

Nice image BnP! Now if you turn it sideways it would also make a nice petroglyph.

Bits-n-Pieces on October 23, 2009

Thanks n1w ! All the fancy architecture around, and I liked the people reflected in the pool...

Thanks H ! Took a lot of shots to get them in good places. Kamaly just didn't have the patience for that!

And Thanks Conrad! Hmmm, I hadn't thought of that....but I just tried and I can't see any faces. :(

Norrel on October 23, 2009

Very nice, Bits! I think kamaly is one of the people reflected in the pool.

Bits-n-Pieces on October 27, 2009

Thanks Norrel! Oh-oh, you guessed! She made me promise not to tell anyone!

Bits-n-Pieces on November 11, 2009

I guess that guy on the left side of the group is all bent over in depression.....because this was Rejected!

Norrel on November 11, 2009

From the thumbnail this one looks like a row of ancient books in a library. Perhaps that's why it's rejected. You could ask panoramio to reconsider their decision. GE deserves a beauty like this one.

ch. bebessi on November 11, 2009

Very-very good picture. Congratulations, ch.

Bits-n-Pieces on November 11, 2009

Thanks Christian! So nice to hear that, especially since The Reviewers didn't seem to think so!!

And many Thanks for the consolation, Norrel! With reviewers like that, maybe GE just doesn't deserve a shot like this! But LOL I understand their likely confusion completely. I hardly know what this is when I look at the thumbnail!

They're too busy negotiating additional little bedevilments to introduce into the system to notice such a pretty shot as this one, Bits.

larry e walton on November 15, 2009

I love this. Thought the thumbnail looked like a bookshelf filled with Encyclopedias.

Nawitka on November 15, 2009

"The Reviewers" have gone down a lot in my estimation. Can't they tell the difference between a building and an encyclopedia? Hey, that sounds like a riddle. Great shot K and hey, "best of" -- hope that helps change their minds! But of course well deserved. And a vote of course.

Bits-n-Pieces on November 16, 2009

Thanks! not1word, Larry and Nawitka for the support and condolences! Yeah, I was pretty surprised at first when I saw it didn't get the seal of approval, but that's sure a lot more understandable with this one than a lot of the 'rejected' photos out there. I might submit it for review, but things are coming in at such low elevations these days I don't know that anyone would even see it if it WERE on GE. BUT if you want a real joke: look at what comes up as the first photo on the Tag 'Boston'. So on those grounds its a bit stupid this was rejected.

Bits-n-Pieces on November 16, 2009

OH - and no one's commented on the really strange optical illusion in this shot. It actually bugs me when I see it, but I know how much I worked on correcting it and double checking it:

Doesn't it look like the horizontals are crooked and/or warped? (I bet this has been driving Guy nuts when he sees it, and he must keep wanting to tell me to fix it.) But drag another window up over the photo: all the horizontals are horizontal and straight!

someGuyinmasset on November 16, 2009

I just assumed it was due to the architecture.

kamalyn on November 18, 2009

LOL, Guy!

and I've figured out why this might have been Rejected: you can actually see some detail in it. Perhaps if I'd left it all black, or had eschewed the tripod...... ;)

I'm going to offer a bit of a quote from the #1 Boston shot: "Stunning image -- makes me gasp. Well conceived, well executed."

See, if you'd have had people saying that about this shot, you'd be first, too, Bits.

Fine. I'll say it.

Stunning image -- makes me gasp. Well conceived, well executed, Bits. I'd say this one deserves it as much as that other one.

Bits-n-Pieces on November 26, 2009

woooo-hoooo! Resubmittal worked once again! :D

"This photo is selected for Google Earth" !

not1word I bet it was your eloquent praise that did the trick!

Bérangère Tiaffay on February 12, 2012

Like 3 for this one. I like the light, people and the windows. Bérangère
