Really? I think you should eat your words and remove this stupid caption. Light Rail has already proven itself to all you naysayers.

vanjohnson, you're an uneducated asshole. I hope you're enjoying the $4/gallon prices in your gas-guzzling SUV during your 30-mile commute every day. How does your wallet feel when you fill up your tank every five days, eh?

First of all I voted for the light rail. What I did not agree with was its initial location. I feel that It could have better served more people of Charlotte in another location not just well to do people heading uptown. Uneducated? Hmmm. Truly educated people know education only give an individual more reasons to justify their ignorance. By the way I have never owned an SUV. Attacking me personally is way out of bounds here. As for all the tough talk feel free to email me. We can exchange numbers and meet somewhere if you like.

Hey, everyone's got an opinion (then and now) so I would never attack someone personally for that. But, I do hope you see that with a little vision, these things are actually important. Also, this was the ideal starting line for many reasons. And you have to start somewhere after all.

@ vanjohnson,

Good for you for not drinking the fiscal Flavor-Aid on Light Rail.

I was against it because this in my 3rd City that built one of these the wrong way, blowing through the funds and sacrificing tons of public support for short-term goals that are quickly forgotten.

Now, we are looking at two more taxes on top of another vehicle registration fee.
