Dave,
Yes, you got me. But, as an old fireman you don't surprise me! :-) It was almost a week since last upload. I have been waiting for a few views from Algarve! ;-) Henrik and I went downtown just to get a glimpse of this first in a series of three ships built with the latest technology for sea rescue and fire extinguishing at sea, and she is even able to suck and brush up oil spill and contain around 1000 tons at a time. Retractable propellers to make her able to stay on an exact position. Engines strong enough for towing, and ice breaking capacities. A preventive measure to the expected doubling of oil transports from Russia across the Baltic in the next decade or so. This was a display in Stockholm for the press only on Wednesday the 21st. We paid her a visit in late afternoon the 22nd. The public as a whole wasn’t invited, and we will probably not see much of her when she begins to work, perhaps hear about her now and then only.

Joho Dave,
They are the defenders of our coast. Perhaps the words COAST GUARD are in Russian on the portside?! ;-))
