A perfect synergie photo: left> a mouth full of double u's "freedom fries" and on the right the branch of an US-fries producer. - Well seen androo - Like no. 1 - Regards H.
GutenTag, Henri - and G'day from the sandpit... I am DELIGHTED that - some 7 years after this photo was taken, some 4 1/2 years after it was eventually uploaded to Panoramio and after only 4772 views (due to not being selected to Google Earth, I expect) - I am delighted to read of your comment and of your appreciation of this image. i'm not a "Macca's" customer usually, and was only drawn to their 'family restaurant' one afternoon in Paris whilst there on one of my honeymoons by their free wi-fi access - as shown in the window. So picture this: my child bride and I sippin' away at what passes for a coffee in the Scottish restaurant when I almost convulse with a mouthful as i see the large, postered advertising bollard immediately outside. "I've gotta take a photo of this", I tell The Missus, and I then rush out and snap away from a few angles. What you have seen here is the best of that small episode. I hadn't thought of the 'Dubya-Freedom Fries' juxtaposed with the location of the restaurant at the intersection of probably the two most recognisable 'Boulevard' names in Paris when (or since) I took this one. When the photo was taken (sometime in June 2004) - the Morgan Spurlock film Super Size Me was due for imminent release in France (30 Juin, as you can see on the poster). What caught my eye was the incongruity of the advertising for a film that so graphically exposed the dangers of a fast-food diet that was so prominently displayed immediately outside one of the establishments whose brand was the subject of the film. Anyway, rave over - take care, Andrew.
Well androo - Andrew, your photo has still someone looked closely and realized the absurdity in principle in two ways.
Actually, only the greed, combined with no sense of enjoyment.
But again, how profitable the whole can be. It does not matter now whether with popcorn or french fries. No matter whether in a cinema or on a road-fast-food-store.
The marketing gag itself - result of your photo - is fun!
4771 people are not necessarily intellectually as well to those to be able to understand, in principle, simple photo synergies and interpreted.
All the best for you - Regards from Baden-Country Henri*
