Dear Füsun,

Isn't it amazing where our red pomegranate leads us. One moment we are enjoying a coffee in the corner at the university in Istanbul, then we are on a glacier in NZ, above the Greenland Icecap then being dwarfed by this glacier in Norway. Thank you Fü for sharing in a journey of the world with me.

What strikes me is that there is almost no moraine on the Greenland glaciers, and even here very little for in such high latitudes they form as sheets on the plateau. But in the alps of NZ they form in deep cirques and flow down deep valleys such that the screes that fall onto them, and the large volume of moraine carried within, ends up smothering the lower glacier as it melts revealing the moraine.

Warmest regards dear friend,

Yes dear Ian how nice, our red pomegranate keeps rolling around the world...

Thank you for this special friendship and sharing.

Warmest greetings. Füsun

Hi Gezginruh,

This picture carries a very pleasant suprise! In thumbnail size you cannot see all those people, and it looks just like a frozen waterfall, but blow it up big, and they all come into view, giving a magnifcent perspective as to the size of it. Brilliant!! (and very cold!!)

Best Wishes Peter
