Photographs of monumental Washington are usually of the tourist sights, the monuments and famous views. This area along the Potomac between the Tidal Basin and the river is also a place locals go for ball games, fishing, jogging, skating, bike riding and just relaxing along the river. Those activities pick up on week-ends and on warm late afternoons and evenings.
