We do indeed have some spectacular country here. I drove to this location (see the photo map to the right), but all the mountains and part of the valley are in wilderness.

I hike in most of this area. There are a few horse trails here as well. Most people bike on the roads as there are no bike trails in the Quinault or Queets valleys.

This area is most noted for its old growth temperate rain forests and Roosevelt elk.
