Cryptic indeed! A bit esoteric! I couldn't find out anything about the place, nor could I read what was once written on the old rusty sign hanging high above the door.
So . . . for now, it will be a mystery. I hope to find out what this little place was eventually. Perhaps someone will see it and come forth with some information.
Until then, thank you for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed the shot.
This ancient treasure looks like a little chapel or church of some kind..possibly. The only reason why I think this is is because of the double doors and the large windows..but don't take any advice from me!
Beautiful shot! The light is just right! There is just a simple beauty about the old, especially the wooden. I've always been attracted to the wooden.
So you're thinking a little old Church? I think that's an excellent guess actually. I was tempted to think the same, only the sides didn't look anything like a church. It sits just off of an old railroad bed, as I'm sure you noticed. The tracks have been taken away, but obviously a train used to run right in front of it years ago. That made me think that it also could have been some type of little store, but who knows? One day I will find out more.
I's delighted to attract your attention with the charm of the beautiful old wood though, as I definitely feel the same way. I wonder just what it is about old wooden buildings that grabs our attention so?
Regardless, It's been a pleasure having you visit, and thank you so much for your continued interest in these places that I adore.
This nice shot, takes me to a John Ford's film. I'm looking forward to visiting your marvellous country, I have visited only New York, and I liked very much.
I'm very happy to hear from you, and delighted that you enjoyed this old building. It's pretty, isn't it? I'm not sure exactly what it was in it's day, but it sure still has a lot of character. Yes, it reminds me of a John Ford film as well.
So you are planning a trip to the USA? How exciting! What states will you be visiting, or do you know yet? Well, if Georgia is on your list, be sure to let me know! We certainly welcome you! =)
Thank you so much for visiting, and for your kind words.
I'm so glad I looked at the full size, MA. I love the weathering on the wood. As for the purpose of the building - couldn't begin to guess, but the big windows suggest "Shop Window" to me.
Greetings, Keith, and thank you so much for visiting! What a treat to hear from you! I think your suggestion of a little Shop sounds perfect! Shop windows! Yes indeed, I can certainly see that now.
I love the weathering wood as well, and thank you so much for enjoying all of the details.
I hope this evening finds you well, and thank you again for stopping by my gallery. It is delightful to hear from you.
Greetings, Erik, and thank you for stopping by this sweet little building, whatever it may be. Church? Shop? Old School house? It really could have been anything, but the mere fact that it's still standing, and in such good shape as well, is what impresses me. I'm so happy that you've enjoyed the shot, and thank you again for stopping over with your poetic words.
Hi MaryAliceYou would have to be careful when you stepped out of this little church after the service you would need a lookout watching for trains.A loveley shot of this old building with the Autumn colours.Best wishes Alan
So true! What a good observation. Indeed, one would have to be very careful if a train was coming. That is quite odd, you know?
Thank you so much for enjoying this shot. I apologize for the horrible delay in getting back to you, Somehow, I'm just now discovering your comment here.
Thank you again for your visit, and I hope this evening finds you well.
Marilyn,
