Balcony of Altona is a park with a lookout point over the port of Hamburg. It is located in Hamburg's Altona district, between the Kaistraße and the Great Elbstraße the northern banks of the Elbe. It received its name from its location on the slope Geest, 27 m above the Elbe. The scale platform gives the feeling of standing on a balcony. The view of the port of Hamburg is not only popular with tourists. The light sculpture "Lorelei on the Elbe" by the artist Paul Sochacki is 2 meters tall lady from fluorescent lights and stands on a massive pedestal of bricks. The Harbourview in the back it almost merges with the River Elbe, at night it is brightly lit and visible from far more seductive than landmark. They also reminded of the legendary beauty Lorelei, is said to have lured the sailors with their charms in unsafe waters.
