Thanks! I always liked that this looks so peaceful, despite where it was taken. But I can never decide whether I like this shot or this one with the nice clouds. I posted the one with the clouds much later than this one, which I think is the main reason it has more hits. Regards. Joe

I was there in 2003. good photo. I like the natural voice amplification design of the little podium archway in the background on the right. that tripped me out!!

I took this a year after you were there, Kevinscott. I had forgotten about that acoustical effect. It reminded me in minature of the flaw in the design of the orginal House of Representatives Chamber. According to legend, in what is now Statuary Hall John Quincy Adams could hear what members on the other side of the room were saying because of how the sound bounced.
