Very interesting, Marilyn.

I have never seen a termite tube nor a photo of one. I would not have known what it was but, I will keep my eyes open for them in the future. Thanks.

Greetings, Leo

Cool bark shot. I love the markings on this tree.

I just caught on the what you called a termite tube. Very interesting photo!

Thank you, Leo and Margot.

I didn't know about termite tubes, either, but I noticed this interesting bark and "line" while I was on guided on a private jungle walk by the eco-lodge owner (because my knees wouldn't let me go kayaking, the scheduled activity). He told me about it, and since then I've confirmed that on the internet. Live and learn!

Greetings, Marilyn

That is very cool Marilyn. What an interesting find, thanks for sharing it with us. Live and learn indeed!

I lived in the tropics for a year, and I often saw lines of ants marching, but never saw a termite tube like this. Ver interesting!

I'm glad you like this, Nawitka and Milo.

My guide was an avid birder, and I didn't know how to break it to him that, though I'm interested in birds, I'm no fanatic and I have broader interests. But after I noticed this, he explained it, and I photographed it, then he understood and began pointing out all sorts of interesting things.
