One benefit of these pink colored varieties is they are not instantly eaten by the birds. There are white fruited (Mountain Ash, Sorbus Cashmeriana or S. koehniana) forms too with that same benefit.
There are lots of different wild species of Ash some of which are very beautiful in both leafs as berries.
