This being the end of October the numbers of tourists drop off after the summer holidays, but the weather here in the Algarve would really suit me from October to April. It was around 72F on our visit, and rarely drops below 60F. Of course the Portuguese would find it cold and so I have the swimming pool to myself.

Being on the Atlantic the storms can sometimes lash the coast, but compared to England it is very warm rain. (And for you I think it would be like a hot bath!)

But I agree with you that it sounds a wonderful time of the year to travel & perfect temperatures. Before we had kids & school schedules to plan around we always tried to travel April/May or September/October.
