Ah thank you, Bedri. This was a great chance to see birds up close. It was at the Statesboro Raptor Center. I am lucky to have one close to my city.

Thanks, Major42. This is actually a captive owl at the Statesboro Raptor Center in Statesboro, GA. You can see the lock that keeps it on the perch.

Greetings from Augusta, GA

Great picture! that raptor center is in a zoo? interesting.. We have that genus in Venezuela Strix. (Strix nigrolineata). Beautiful owl! Greetings!

What beautiful bird!

((Ospr3y)) on March 22, 2010

Yes, It's like a zoo, but it holds injured raptors that are healed but unreleasable. I have heard of the Black-and-White Owl before. It's one of my favorite birds!

Thank you, Mioara!

Best Wishes, (liam...)

Hello, John. A much belated thanks for your comment. Yes, I love this place and it's great that there are so many bird rehabilitation centers down here.
