Pierre,
New to the Buckhorn area and would like some info on this camp site. We are interested in paddling this river and are looking for a good overnight campsite. Were you able to paddle through the whitewater?

Its a great campsite. Thunderboxes were installed at all campsites on this river from Massassagua lake down to Buckhorn lake some time ago. There are a number of camsites on the river. Kevin Callan's book about canoeing cottage country details this river. We did paddle most of the rapids but some of the rapids are very dangerous. Namely Scotts' dam and a couple of others. Always scout the rapids on this river before running. Due to the dam on Massassagua lake, the water levels on this river can fluctuate alot any time of year and some portions of the river can be quite treacherous. That said, I have taken my kids down this river safely. We just used ALL of the portages.
