He has written books like Steppenwolf, Siddharta, Under the Wheel, Narciss & Goldmund, ....
He was born in Calw/Germany, but became a citizen of Switzerland and moved to Lugano. He was and still is one of the greatest German writers of the 20th century and for many even of all time.
