When was this photo take? Just wondering because Yahoo did an article on abandoned mansions in the US and the photo they showed of this place had ivy/branches on the rectangular building between the mansion and the camera. http://realestate.yahoo.com/promo/creepy-abandoned-mansions.html
I live about 4 minutes from "Mudhouse Mansion", and when I was younger, Like MANY teens in my town, we crept inside one night...It was truly scary. You can feel a presence as soon as you even come close to that property!!!
This photo was taken just a few days before I posted it. Mudhouse (as far as I know) still has a "grounds keeper" that takes care of the property. When I was there a man was out on a tracter in the field and when he seen me get out of my truck for a closer picture he JUMPED off of his tractor and warned me to not come ANY closer to the home. and I was about 3 football fields away on the road, with no intention of getting closer. So someone for sure still looks after the place..
Also it was winter when I took the photo (you can tell by the lack of leaves on the trees and no crops around it, so it is possible the Ivy you seen was just gone for the season..
