The work is being done by the Weatherspoons chain of pubs - who sell traditional ales which I like so we're not displeased. Hopefully Mary and Philip have got what they wanted from the sale. Wow...don't know whether to be shocked or happy. The hotel was great but in need of a cash infusion to come up to date, but still it's not going to be the same. We wonder if you know where we can find Philip & Mary as the phone we have for them is the hotel which is disconnected. Love to see what they are up to. Her mother lived in York so imagine they relocated there but still want to keep track as they have always been so great to us! If you want to post a photo of the hotel boarded up would love to see....I will miss the sausage warehouse they had in the restaurant a great deal, too. Though the ales were good I like cider better!
