You live in a good place to enjoy the power and might of the sea ~
Yes, ther are sometimes some goot tempests.
Note that you get much more of them on the UK and Ireland East coasts.
I live in a place called Chalfont St Peter, a little to the North West of London, it takes me two hours to get to a flat I have in Gosport which is by Portsmouth there I see water all around me ~ For decent surf the nearest good beach is on the Isle of Wight ~ I prefer to go to Cornwall, but that is around six hours away ~ so I do not get there very often. North Devon has some good surf beaches too. Maybe I'll go back there one day too ~ All the best ~ nick
Yes, Devon West coast is the good place for tempests!
You can get an idea of the waves on these sites:

Hi François ~ Thanks for the two links they both look very useful and I did not know of either of them. :)
Here is one link to a web site I visit link
Thank you Nick
The 10 March 2009 severe weather images are impressive!
That is exactly what attracts me to the place :) I'd love to capture a storm even half the size of that one! One day if I'm lucky I'll get down there for a really good storm and maybe get some good light too :) It is a good place to spend a week's holiday at out of season any way :))
Roaring seas and beautiful photo! L+F! Kindest wishes, Don.
Don, Thanks for the Fav :-)
Best wishes, François
