This one's a really excellent shot, kamaly. A perfect mirror image, and great clarity and detail.

Cal Kimola Brown on November 19, 2009

Wow, wow, wow! your first page is looking absolutely stunning Kamalyn I love all the bright fall colours. This one gets a Y* for sure.

Ritva Astikainen on November 19, 2009

I like this a lot! Cheers, Ritva :)

kamalyn on November 20, 2009

Thanks for those really really nice comments not1word, Cal, and Ritva! They especially count for quite a lot BECAUSE THE REVIEWERS REJECTED IT!!! Nawitka gets her blurry night into the In Crowd, Guy gets the Great WHITE North in the club, and I get my shots rejected!

Norrel on November 20, 2009

But kamalyn, didn't you know yet that one of the GE-reviewers hates Great Blue Herons?

someGuyinmasset on November 20, 2009

That's not it Norrel, it's such a fantastic picture that he didn't think it was real.

Ralf_G. on November 22, 2009

Hi kamalyn, I also like this photo with the great reflection very much! BTW, the acceptance policy for GE says that animal photos can be accepted as a possible exception if they depict Animals in their natural environment showing the background ... well, the more background you show, the smaller the animal becomes! Good luck in submitting this photo for a review, and if necessary by email for a third review!

Greetings from Germany, Ralf

wanderful pic, geat job !

Greetings from Kosova, Ilir

Thank you all for the solace and the encouragement Norrel, Guy, Ralf, and Ilir ! :D Thanks Ralf - I'd rather forgotten about that catch for allowing animals, so perhaps I will re-submit it. It seems they're working with new reviewers these days, and there sure are being some strange Rejects and strange Acceptances!

not1word on November 23, 2009

Thanks for that link, Ralf. I've got a couple of interiors that should meet the rules, and I'll give them another run.

kamalyn on November 23, 2009

wow. THAT was fast! I did hit the 'request re-review' link yesterday. And today, not only does this guy now sport the white and blue badge of honor, but so do the two photos I just uploaded this week-end, including another heron shot with an unusual viewpoint that I sure expected to be pretty questionable! Cool!

So many thanks to everyone who urged me to ask for the second review.

Ralf_G. on November 23, 2009

Thank you for the nice feedback, kamalyn and not1word! Regards, Ralf

....and speaking of herons, I've been trying to get back to this one.......it's a stunning image K and so worthy of a Pano badge. My heron wasn't accepted, so thanks for the extra view!!! H

whoelius on November 24, 2009

It took them a while to publish it for us but this is the new acceptance policy for Google Earth.

kamalyn on November 25, 2009

LOLOL, who - I think that's MUCH too high tech!

Thanks again Steve and Ralf ! The resubmittals do seem to work pretty well, and even Joaquin has made comments in the forum that some of the rejections are ridiculous, and they'll work hard to find out what the problem is. I honestly think someone is hitting the wrong button!

Thanks H ! Maybe they figured your heron wasn't in its natural environment. Herons aren't supposed to go to the Library!

Great shot! Love it!

Hi Liam - Thanks! This lake with some neighboring shallow ponds and wetlands is pretty great for bird watching. Pretty remarkable since it's in a populated area and heavily used. But lots of interesting guys show up there during migration season. You might really appreciate this fellow who was by the side of the trail last spring!
