This house, built in 1856, is one of the most famous examples of rural architecture in the valley of the river Simme, designed and built by the craftsman Hans Messerli. Very rich painted decorations and woodcarvings. It is called the 'Knuttihaus', according to the name of the family who built it.

Hello Sonja, many thanks for your kind words. This house is one of many others in the region, which is still in normal and daily use, not just part of an open air museum.

Super old house.

Tatiana, the architecture of the house front is in fact something special and interesting, not only because of the wood work and the painted decoration: --> the windows are arranged in groups of three, four and five (result: perfect optical harmony).
