Seen at a local exhibition of owls, in support of their protection. This little beauty, had been recently nursed back from ill health. I think it's a Tegmalm's Owl but it also has the look of a young Barn Owl to me, Perhaps someone can put me right here. In actual fact, besides being a fine bird, it is also a very interesting picture.

This was a pleasure to my eyes when I opened your page and saw this little beauty Herb especially when I read that she/he had been nursed back from ill health, I guess you can say that she's hooting with joy. YS

Steve, Karen and Michael. You know it's feels really good to put on a different picture here and then have viewers say they like it. I took this picture, along with some more owl pictures early this year and I must admit I find this really growing on me. I feel that I want to have it printed on a place-mat perhaps.

Thanks for the YS Karen - always an honour, especially from one so famous now!

Cheers, Herb

Bits-n-Pieces, yes, I agree, they really bore into you. Glad you like it!

Jan, I was thinking of your bird pictures whilst uploading these. You may remember, I said, I had some owl shots. Anyway, very happy you like my attempt here.

Cheers to you both, Herb

They say a symmetrical face is a sign of beauty. This is a great example of that "rule"! I like his (or her?) face very much! Greetings, Laura

Self-portrait ?!

Always great,greetings

Herb Riddle on November 27, 2009

Thanks Laura and 3frem. I am glad you find this face interesting. I sometimes hear 'Tawny Owls' on my little holidays. They make the traditional long hooting sounds which always sound so eerie but nice. I know I am in the country side then. Cheers, Herb

This is awesome Herb he has a Canadian cousin sitting on a shelf in Guy's house.

Herb Riddle on November 30, 2009

Thanks for that Cal and I had to think how it was you knew it was Guy's house. I see that you have lots of talent in your family and I like your 'modest' piece of artwork too. Cheers, Herb
