Greetings Alex and Polytropos, It was a good day Sunday. Sunday night was all clouds, so no moon. The Garden of the Gods is a city park in Colorado Springs 70 miles south of my house. It is an easy trip and casual walk.
Cheers,
Rich

Yes, I think all the boy scouts in the red T-shirts are trying to sneak off with the rock. They have a big truck parked below with all their camping gear, so when they get the rock in the truck they will cover it with back packs and sleeping bags and take it back to Syracuse, New York. One of the adult leaders tried to shoulder the rock like Charles Atlas or Hercules, but was unsuccessful. Thanks for the comments and have a great week.
Cheers,
Rich

Looks not so much like a 'God' god, but like a 'rock' character from the Simpsons,..
But, that's just me ruining monumental things...

Greetings Brian, Thanks for visiting the Balanced Rock at the park and your great comment with the Simpsons. It is funny to see these people playing Charles Atlas and trying to move the rock. I imagine the park has drilled a hole clear through the rocks and put in a big steel pole that will prevent the rock from ever moving! ;-))
Cheers,
Rich

Hi Richard. I saw there is a big discussion about copying and remodeling pictures of other "Panoramians" --> rosina lamberti and --> Andrew Messina.
You know, I did the same with --> this picture of you. If you want that I delete it, tell me, please.

Greetings Polytropos, Wow, this touches upon a very difficult subject that must be approached on an individual basis. For me, I consider it a compliment that someone would want to use my material. I have found that I am always asked before hand, notified immediately, and given credit in both title and comments. So there is no doubt that I was part of the project. I understand how others feel when they do not want their materials used. The simple solution is to ask first. If the response is please don't, then you respect that persons wishes and ownership and not post. I do not have any problem with what you did with the balanced rock at Garden of the Gods. The manipulations falls right in to the theme of the area and I got a huge laugh out of it. Please leave it on your site. Bottom line, I don't condone wholesale use of other people's images. The user should ask first. So far in my experience it has not been a problem with my pictures. Well, off to work. I am sure this issue will be discussed in further detail and hopefully a peaceful resolution will come about. My final say: "Ask First".
Cheers,
Rich
