My big example is this one. It received one comment the first day or two I'd posted it as a new member. It became one of my most-viewed photos, but there were no more comments until I posted it on the forum (something about "your most popular picture") and mentioned that. So all the rest of the comments under picture are discussions, not of the photo, but of how can happen!
