why the Sun is not a circle.

Enrique Ortiz de Zár… on November 12, 2008

"why the Sun is not a circle?"

Obviously because the Sun is a sphere :)

Ha, ha,. No, it's a matter of atmospheric refraction. huangleilei, do not tell me that in your village that does not happen!!!

Greetings and thanks to you and everyone for comment

I know,but I have not seen this beautiful sun,maybe I should use a telescope.

Enrique Ortiz de Zár… on November 12, 2008

Hi, huangleilei. Seeing the sun in this way requires several things. First, be in some place that will allow to observe the distant horizon, like the top of a mountain or a tall building. Second, a clear day, but with enough fog that, just before its hiding under the horizon, it allows us to see at the sun directly with naked eyes without any danger of burning them. Third, binoculars, or even better, that what you say: a small telescope. But always, always, always taking care of your eyes, because looking to the sun is very dangerous. Cheers and good luck.
