Me and Ieva passed MEGA Park, Žemaičių plentas, and searched for the place I found on hitchbase.com, direction Klaipeda. Crossing the bridge to E 85 there was a long track that seemed perfect to stop cars. I remember picking my notebook and fastening it between the belt of my bagpack so twas easier to carry the guitar. The place was a mess, mostly no cars. After waiting one and a half hours we met two girls from Estonia, arriving from Vilnius on the way back from the VilniusJazz to Talinn. They told us about another place, more in the north but I told them we'd try a bit more to get a ride from here. Half an hour later we asked a russian guy and his girlfriend walking along if they knew a better place to leave Kaunas hitchhiking. He took us to the place to which the estonian girls probably went to, about 500 metres, walking below the E67 bridge and then straight upwards the feeder where we found an old bus station. They were already gone, it was getting late so we fetched our sign trying to take the very next car to Riga. I don't know, where I lost the book. I guess it was at the bus station but I am unsure about that. It could have been elsewhere, maybe on the meadows. Today I think of it as something mysterious. Once I thought to have lost the book and I got paranoid about it, writing name and address on the backside of the cover, so there is still the possibility someone finds it and decides to send it back to me. Of course...usually I don't think about it, but if, I imagine that one day I'll open my postbox finding a dirty, rotten notebook, as if it were a letter I wrote to myself in the past that had to cross the world to find it's way back to me. I think that will never happend. Anyway, I like the idea.
