Gånggrift, Luttra 1997

Falbygden är ett centrum för gånggrifter i norra europa. Här finns ca 270 st bevarade. Gravarna byggdes ca 3500-3100 f Kr, men användes i flera generationer. Byggherrarna levde av odling och boskap i ett samhälle som var socialt skiktat. Förmodligen var detta elitens ättegravar.

När de döda skulle gravsättas i kammaren makades befintliga skelett samman. Hängen av djurtänder, föremål av ben, pärlor, små yxor och klubbor av bärnsten och djur som fågel, får, nöt, svin och hund lades vid deras sida.
