Minnehaha Falls is a 50 foot (15.5 meter) sheer drop waterfall on Minnehaha Creek near the creek's mouth on the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.
This photo was taken in late November, when the water level was quite low. During the spring thaw, this creek can have 100 times or more the water that is shown here.
That is a great picture, can almost make out figures within the falls. It is no wonder people have flocked to falls such as this throughout history. This is a beautiful picture.
Thanks, grofit, it's nestled in a highly developed area of Minneapolis, something you would miss if you didn't know it was there.
I commend you on your excellent series on Minnehaha Falls! BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for sharing!! Jerry-Keewatin, MN
Was here for a wedding a couple years ago, decked in miserable formal attire on a hot day. Had no idea a park in Minneapolis would include this, so skipped the big, heavy DSLR -- one of those moments of profound regret. Thank you for capturing and sharing what I was unprepared for.
