Nice shot, Marilyn. I think this picture needs a stronger crop to develope his strenght. ;) Ciao

Yes, badge, there are possibilities. Anyway I consider it a lucky shot from a moving bus!

Moving bus??? Not a lucky shot, a great photographer!!! Ciao :)

Marilyn Whiteley on July 16, 2007

Thanks, badge, but let's just say "a photographer who wanted to use every opportunity" on a fascinating trip.

This, this, and this amusing photo are all moving-bus shots, and this is a moving boat shot. Fortunately the country road conditions and the busy city traffic never let the bus go very fast!

Yes, polytropos, except that this didn't get stacked at all! It was laid out on smooth, hard-packed areas beside the road, waiting for a threshing machine to come by and do its work. That machine wasn't big and modern-looking, but it seemed to be the only mechanical part of the process. Otherwise growing rice (I think) involved a lot of manual labour.

Of course. Just browsing around. :-)

I know exactly what you mean, I went there for several month.

Thanks, polytropos, for the correction. Looking at your India photos prompted me to post this to complement yours.

Excelent picture¡¡ Where is that?

Marilyn Whiteley on September 24, 2011

I'm sorry I missed your comment, ma.luisa rugarcia. This is somewhere in Tamil Nadu (the extreme south and east of India), and I wish I could map it. But I took it from a moving bus, and I don't know exactly where we were!
