House on beach

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Typical 'light' architecture of the South. The houses on these shores were so inviting, I liked the more colourful ones best. As you can see, this one is empty and so were 85% of the rental properties there. The state of economy/ air flight restrictions is killing tourism. Also, prices were still bit too high in 2009!

The houses are built on pillars, not only against water, but also against sand, which after a Hurricane can accumulate and block the doors and windows if they are too low. When I arrived there, not all roads were passable, because there the sand piled up and had to be removed with bulldozers.

Beautiful building for adults - had anybody thought about tsunami? Very nice place. I Like it. Kind regards, Jaroslav

It is build for small disasters.

This area gets it share of storms. There was one shortly before I arrived. There was still 70 cm high sand bar blocking the road near the beach.

Anyway, people just rebuild and plant new palm trees!

Nowadays, with all the tempests, the price must have dropped, if it was not yet blown away!

I would never buy a house so exposed to the sea, and built on sand!
