This is a very old stone cross! This stone cross is made in honor of Saint Petka - Paraskeva. Petka is a Christian saint. The Orthodox Serbia be respected as a protector of travelers. In the early Middle Ages it was passing this way - via millitaris. At this point in the 4th century after Christ, was an early Christian church. This early Christian church were burned by Turkish invaders in the 15th century after Christ. Where was the early Christian church respects the local population as a holy place! After the liberation of Serbia from the Turkish invaders, the locals had no money to build another church, so they just built this stone cross! Later, the communist regime did not allow the construction of the Orthodox Church, and today in this region almost no working-age population, but only the old farmer!
