It is actually a digital temperature reading. It was 44 degrees fahrenheit at the time of the photo.

Thanks for the good eyesight! I think I remembered it as an inexpensive motel and first titled the pic thinking that was the price. (And indeed maybe it was something like that). Later I saw the "F" and for some reason didn't simply change it. Or I didn't and now I realize you're right. So I'm going to change that.
