This is a beautiful view of the town in which I was raised. To the far left is the Piasten Castle, in the center the Catholic St. Martins Church. In the far left distance are the foothills of the Sudeten Mountains. In 1945, after the Soviets had capture the town on 12 February 1945, right along the edge of the foothills was the German Main Line of Resistance where I served as a boy soldier until May 1945.
