His cupcake cradled close to his nose; the boundary of childhood vision,

Spellbound, his tender morsel poised in indecision.

Some sprinkles scatter on the china plate below his ample treasure --

He's smitten, fairly rapturous, enthused beyond all measure...

Quite suddenly, his razor teeth have ravaged it with lust

And his eyes ping out like lollipops to find the texture dust.

My humble explanation, that now and then our lives unfold --

All part of being little and learning to grow old...

Where all appears perfection, the icing primped and preened,

Beneath the polished skin all isn't always as it seemed...

So I treasure this, the wonderment, the childish expectation,

The boyish contours of his skin all sprung with new elation.

Yes that moment when he thought that he was perched upon the brim

Of cupcake heaven is the way I'll always cherish him...

Three times the beauty, Sue. The shot, the boy, and the poem.

MaryAlice on December 15, 2009

'Tis delightful, Sue!

He is indeed one happy little fellow here.... It's all right there in his eyes

Your words are so fitting and true. Childish wonderment ... when the most important things in life are as simple as a cupcake! =)

It's wonderful to find this delightful new posting from you, dearest friend.

I hope you and your beautiful family are all doing well. You're thought of every day.

Warmest wishes from Georgia,

Mary Alice

Sue What a beautiful boy and a mighty yummie cup cake....Isn't it fun to make a child's face light up withthese yummie treats. I so enjoy doing that for our 3 grandaughters. All along in your gallery or someone's page, I've seen photos of your children, and so beautiful each one. My 2 sons are grown and they have given me 3 special young ladies that make my heart sing!! enjoy your young family for they do grow up and then are gone. Luckily mine have remained close by, I'am so thankful for that everyday....

Was good to see you in my part of the world in my gallery a few days ago. Gotta run, I'am working on a birthday cake right now for my youngest son for Friday the 18th!!!! Having a ball!!

Warm regards/ Sarah

First new upload in more than two months! Welcome back on Pano, Sue! My kids forget everything around them when they are enjoying a piece of cake like this one. They are all alike, all over the world.

I'm afraid I'd ignore the young man's handsomeness and steal his cake.

Saaaay, Susan: A tonic for the soul? I think you should message me on that other site and tell me about everything; tell me all things great and small.
