Iguana Rock

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Some time back, a contributor on Panoramio, I can't recall their name right now, noticed that this rock looked just like an iguana. I agreed so heartily that I changed the title to "Iguana Rock". I recently deduced that this spot is known as Camel Point and I do see the resemblance, but I think it looks more like an iguana, so the title will remain. The women in the photo is my sister, Dale, who was visiting from Montreal for my birthday.

Beautiful shot...of Camel Point. I grew up on the street of this name (100 yards to the left of the photo), named after this rock. To the immediate left is a similar sandstone hillside that is the camel's hump. It has lost some of the back of the head on the left side. So, yes it might look like an iguana (never heard it called that), but it has been a Camel for over 50 years.

Thank you skiergordo for coming to visit my gallery! What an amazing place to grow up! I invented the name of this photo after someone looking at the photo pointed out how it looked like an iguana. I had never really noticed it myself, but after they left the comment, I thought the "photo" deserved to be named such. Please come back and visit my gallery again! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU!

Sincerely, ☼Donald Wilson McCulloch☼
