This famous (!) Bishopbriggs landmark, headquarters of Wimpey (Scotland), later Carillion, was the base for many of the areas major housing contruction projects - many of the houses being built in Bishopbriggs itself. The building is pictured shortly before its demolition in 2001. It was replaced by private housing.

Already stated in the original description. In actuality, there THREE blocks of private flats on this site. Prior to the construction oif the Wimpey building, the Mavis Valley mineral railway crossed this site - the tunnel still exists under Kirkintilloch Road.
