Amazing parabolic coast! This photo is for a Math class!! :)

Greetings, Juan.

Ian Stehbens on January 24, 2010

And also a Physics class might puzzle over the patterns of refraction that shape the growth of a coral island. But if you enjoy this symmetry you may be incredulous when you look at the map of Vavu'a, Tonga. Put that into a Google Earth 'Fly to' and see what subject class would benefit from it.

Warm regards, Juan.

I don't do GE, but...

Suggest new position ...

We can't find Vavua, Tonga. We can't find Vavu'a, Tonga.

give me a hint (before curiosity kills this cat) ?!?

Ian Stehbens on January 24, 2010

OOps, sorry Ian, Juan and all. I did make a serious mistake! Sorry I wasn't trying to mislead: it should read Vava'u, Tonga. I am sure GE will now find it in a 'fly to' instant.

Otherwise zoom out 5clicks on the above map image, head 200 mile NNE and voila! Enjoy.

PS: I hope the cat is still alive, Ian. I wouldn't want you to do anything dastardly. And I hope the grey dog hasn't mistaken it for a white poodle!

Warm greetings, gondor. Perhaps with the rate of tectonic plate movement here, what we see is the island creating its own bow wave. Great to receive your message.
