Bench, Spanish Plaza, Mobile, 1968 gift from Malaga, Spain.

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Spanish Plaza, Mobile, Alabama. A bench made of decorated ceramic tiles. This one depicts La Albufera, a fresh water lagoon near Valencia, coat of arms of the City and old shield from the time of Franco regime.

In addition to several benches featuring major Spanish cities, there is a large fountain "Arches of Friendship" in the middle, which was presented to Mobile by the city of Málaga.

Mobile was in Spanish hands from 1780 to 1813.

Mobile ignored that there were a square dedicated to my country. The bank on the right reflects the old shield of the Franco regime and left the shield of the city of Valencia. Always the best Spanish tradition, painted ceramics. Thanks for showing it. Greetings from Spain

I think that Mobile and Valencia are sister cities. There is also one very nice fountain in New Orleans with ceramic inlay of different Spanish city emblems.
